Happy Days

I can't believe it's been over a week since I've been on here..and my birthday has gone by in the mean time too!
Oh well, the b-day day was wonderful, I got a beautiful whitegold and diamond butterfly from Scott, we had a great time at Phantom of the Opera and dinner out at Amici's was incredible...amazing drinks, Mmmmm!!
Since then Nettie got her grades 3.6 WOOOHOOOO!! And she's planning on graduating in June, her dad has agreed to have a party for her at his house to include EVERYONE!! I"m going to handle the food.
I'm so happy he agreed to do this and I know what she is too :-)
I can't believe the school year is almost over...Beth's baby is due June 23rd, she looks amazing and I can't wait to go over to her NEW house and help her with all the moving stuff...she seems really happy Whew!

Back to school

I have to admit it was fun seeing my kids today. I would have rather had another 2 days off for a complete week of Spring Break, but the kids were fun, and the girls LAX game tonight was a good time...I ran into Tim Kerns and couldn't remember who he was while we were talking, it was embarrassing but, I hope I covered well enough, it was good seeing him there at the game, and a coincidence since I'd just been talking to Hinda about Dale 2 days earlier!

Catching up

It's been a few days since I've written, and lots of happy stuff along the way! Easter Dinner was fun, and Meet the Parents went very well, the food turned out great and even Scott, who's not keen on 'family stuff' said that is was a wondrful day!! That made me VERY happy to hear. It's not like we're in our 20's and we'll be doing a lot of this kind of thing, but having everyone together once in a while is very important to me.

Yesterday was my first day of Spring Break and I had a great time in North East having lunch and shopping with Hinda and Nancy...Great conversation for sure, LOL...and I bought myself a fist Vera Bradly pruse as a B-day present to myself, it's very plain, as the wild stuff isn't my cup of tea. And I picked up Mellie's b-day presents too! I dropped off my Brighton watch to be repaired at the Silver Buckle and Hinda said when I come to pick it up she wants to have Scott and me over, she says I can't move in with him until she's met him and he's met with her approval!

Last night after dinner Scott took a walk with me and that was great too...Lots of happiness all around!

Taking it easy

Today's been fun just taking it easy and getting ready for the Easter dinner tomorrow. Dad is coming over to Scott's and he's going to meet his parents Greg and Mary for the first time...makes me miss Mom, but I'm hopeful everything will go smoothly. I'm making mac and cheese for the first time...green beans, and the ham. Mary is doing the roast beef and potato salad..yummmy!
It's a beautiful day out and it's fun just to hang out and enjoy taking it easy, baking and appreciating the lovely day!

Spring Break

What I did today that made me happy was that I left work ON TIME! I got to tan my legs and pack for a fun Birthday-Easter weekend with my sweetie...on my way to Book Club after dinner with Mellie first though...ALL very happy type things!

What made me happy today..?? Well, by principal came into the Library today and told me that I should get my supervisor on the team that is planning the reconstruction!! I've been working hard Tech guy on plans for what we can work on over the summer and I'm hoping that something will really come through for this library!

Simple

Well today's happy came from baking something that I'd never had before. I bought several Tastefully Simple products to try (way too many actually, Lol). And today after going to see How To Train Your Dragon at Hunt Valley with Scott and MJ (very well done movie, cute!), we stopped by Wegman's and picked up steak for dinner. I thought trying the TS Cornbread would be good with our meal and it was awesome..and the Simple thing that was my happy thing for today!

Well a couple things that made me happy about this pizza today. First of all Gus's Pizza and Grill in Edgewood were having 25% donation for everything bought yesterday and today to your Lady Mariners State Championship Basket Ball players for their championship rings...the second happy thing about pizza was that I took it to Lil'E and Colin for dinner...along with Goofy Bread (cheese sticks sort of thing). The kids loved it and thought I was a great Aunt (there was chocolate cake to seal the deal on that idea!).

I got to hang out with my girl for a bit today...we talked about what she wanted to do after she graduated, what she wanted to do for a party...ahhh! There isn't much happier a mom can be than seeing their little kid, gown up and making a future for themselves!

Long-time Friends!

Today we went to Norrisville Fire Company's for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. MJ didn't want to hang out with the Bunny, be she had a great time playing on the fire engine equipment, ringing the fire bell and exploring the ambulance. What I really enjoyed was seeing Erica and meeting her new boyfriend, and seeing lots of friends from NES that I hadn't seen in a long time. I do miss the community up there, but felt welcomed back for sure! Then when we got back to Bel Air, Laurie and Ron Davis were at Dad's visiting and it was wonderful to see them and chat for a bit. They are doing well and it's exciting to hear Molly is enjoying 'homemaking' with her boyfriend in their house. It was a great day for connecting with long-time friends :-)

They made me happy today, because they decided to work for a change! It's getting close to the end of the marking period and I know that always puts a fire under their butts, but all the same, they not only worked they worked HARD on their papers, and I saw source citation pages that looked awesome...Yeay!

St. Patty's day

It's a beautiful day...that makes me Happy! I'm going to work out in the yard at Dad's, and that makes me happy too!! No partying tonight, that makes me a bit sad, but I'll try to make up for it this weekend :-)

Bethany Beach!

We just came back from a weekend at Bethany Beach!! That for sure made me happy :-)  This time last year we went with MJ and Mike on my mom's birthday and it was a great way to TOTALLY get rid of SO much stress I'd been feeling last year. This year, it was Scott under the stress of Lois being out of work since September with her cancer. And on our way Friday night, he was having chest pains and we stopped at a prompt-care type place to find that his BP was Very high, and he ended up being ambulanced to Anne Arundle Medical Center where we stayed through blood tests and chest x-reys. But after everything was done, we were sent on our way with good news. And even better news was that there were NO pains the whole weekend at the beach! His Dr apt is on Thursday and we'll get everything straight then.
But as for the weekend, once we finally got there on Saturday, we enjoyed a wonderful time, despite it being horribly rainy and windy,even some of the streets were flooded! But we enjoyed relaxing and reading, cooking and eating out, looking at the beach and shopping. All around prefect weekend despite it all!

Must be the beach is coming...

I can't put my finger on it, but I have been on cloud nine for the past couple days! I think it's because Bethany Beach is TOMORROW! The whole weekend is supposed to be rain, rain, rain, but none of us care, we're just thrilled to be getting to the beach and away for a few days together MJ, Mike along with Scott and me :-)

I'm Back

Well it took about 2 weeks, but I've got the computer working again, the printer however is still not doing what it's supposed to and Dad can't print his little papers he likes to, so I still have that to figure out, but I'll get there! SO that is most certainly something that makes me happy today. But to go along with that, I found a girl I met on a Cruise with Hugh 4 or 5 years ago. She came up on my FB page HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?? We have NO friends in common, nothing we've done is in common, she lives in FL......I can't even begin to imagine how this happened...beyond weird! But it's been fun to chat with her again!

On-line again finally

Well what's making me happy right now is that I can enter this onto my Blog now. We're still managing to get the Internet working and Verizon and I have spent over 5 hours together on the phone! The connection is working for dad's computer but there's a problem with the wireless and last week I had to Ladies Basket Ball duties (that I loved AND got paid for) Yoga, and Book Club, which didn't leave much time for chatting with the Tech dudes to fix this issue...BUT I"m hoping that next week I'll have some more time to sit on the phone and chat with them. This whole system seems so archaic somehow...I'm sure in a few years they'll be able to fix everything remotely, but for now it just seems like such a long involved process!

So happy things for the week were Book Club, dinner with Mellie, 2 wins for JHS Ladies who are on to the Div. finals, and a library jam packed with classes ALL week. Now the weekend with my Sweetie <3

Run!

Well I managed for just the third time to make it on the tredmill program again. It's a hard program and I keep working on making it all the way through and I've only done it 3 times now, but each time I keep amazing myself..I'm hoping soon it will get easier and I'll be able to get through it and perhaps even think about trying the next program...but one step at a time for sure!

Favorite time...

Well after my last post on Monday the Internet went down at Dad's and after 2 attempts so far still no luck in getting it working there...so I'm here at Scott's being able to get on-line finally!

Nettie was over on Thursday night and it reminded me of my favorite time...Time that I lived in the apartment in Belcamp with her from when she was 11 till she graduated from CMW. I loved hanging out with her then and Thursday night was a bit of a thow back to those days because she and I went shopping together, then she had her friend Erica over and we had dinner the three of us and they talked to me about college and work as we watched the Olympics and chatted about that too. They're growing up and getting ready to go off and start their own lives, but it's so nice to once in a while, catch a moment from the past.

Jammies

What made me happy today was that I was able to get home from work and into my jammies by 7pm! It was a cold rainy night and I was SO happy to be comfy and cozy and warm, making cookies and watching the Monday Night Funnies.

BBall end of the year

Well today's happy thing came when we had our End of the Year Season for the girls at RPCS, and farewell to the Sr's Janey and LC. I decided to give them my own present because I'd really spend a lot of time enjoying watching them play and I wanted them to know that as well as know how much I'd miss seeing them play again for RPCS. They are awesome girls and I'm excited for them, I know they'll do well in whatever they choose to do with their lives.

Did It!

Well it's been a couple...okay 3 days..since I've gotten back to write. But for today, what's happend that was good, what made me happy?? I got through the first program on the tredmill!! I was so proud of myself. I can't wait to do it again :-)

Yesterday's happy was that Katy was kind enough to go see Avitar for a second time, so that I could finally see it myself. She and I tried to go a couple weeks ago and it was sold out, and in the meantime she saw it with some other friends. But she went again for me..and it was a most amazing movie, spectacular to say the least!

I think this will be our last snowday and I'm actually looking forward to getting back to school tomorrow. The schedule will be a HUGE mess, but we'll get it worked out.

Bye Bye Blizzard '10

BINGO

Well the snow finally ended and so has the shoveling! I had a friend from high school send an invitation to me for a Pandora/Vera Bradley BINGO tonight to relieve Cabin Fever, I'm excited about going even though she will probably be the only person there I know! I'm looking forward to getting out and talking to someone other than Scott (as wonderful as he is) for a change.
There is another threat of snow for Monday...ugh!!!

Grocery clerk

Okay, perhaps not the most exciting 'happy' thing ever, but I was at Giant today with about 1/2 of Timonium getting all our essentials for this next blizzard and I got to the check-out and realized that I didn't have my little discount card. I felt really bad making some excuse to the check-out guy, because if there was a job I didn't want to have today (besides the totally overworked snow plow drivers who have been at it non stop for the past 4 days) it's this guy's! But I told him my tale of woe and he just gave me the biggest smile and said "Just give me a phone number, any one will do." And sure enough, I got my Giant discount (even though I know it wasn't the right phone number) he made it work for me and dispite the line that was several people deep he was pleasant and friendly and helpful and gave me a great perspective for the rest of my snowy day!

Really 8 Feb '10

Well the good thing happened at about 3:00pm, I got the Alert Now call from HCPS saying that we get another snow day tomorrow! <3

7 Feb

It's not really Feb 7th, but I got wrapped up in snow removal and Superbowl yesterday...but I did have something good that happened yesterday! We didn't have a shovel to get ourselves our from under our 30"+ of snow, but we met the neighbors above us and borrowed their shovel. They have a toddler now, Scott and I remember when he was a baby coming home. We used to hear his cries, and now we hear his little feet running around, so it was not only fun meeting them, but we were also so thankful to have their shovel for a few hours to dig ourselves out!

Well there are a few to choose from today, the Blizzard of '10 as they're calling it allowed for a crazy, lazy happy day watching over 30" of snow pile up! But the real happy thing was reading my Nettie's post on FB saying that her new kitten Yorke was finally becoming more friendly and letting Net snuggle and cuddle her a little bit, I know how much that meant to her, and I'm very happy Yorke is beginning to enjoy her new Momma!

First one!

Well we're in for a Blizzard here tonight and I thought this is the perfect time to start the Blog I've been contimplating for quite some time...so here goes!

What I did that made me happy today?
I listened to NPR as I drove to pick up movies for Scott and me to watch while we're snowed in this weekend...and I learned about an Independant bookshop in Baltimore called breathe books and heard a great book review for Elizabeth's Gilbert's (Eat, Pray Love) new book Committed. I'm looking forward to putting that on my Goodreads.com To Read Shelf!

Since it's my first day I'm going to indulge myself with another happy event...by the time I got to Blockbuster certain that ALL the good movies would be rented, I found 3 that I think Scott and I will enjoy!
